If the phone doesn't ring, it's me
I hope you all realize that although I haven;t posted much here in awhile, I do continue to post on the Makingadifferance blog as long as I am here in Sri Lanka helping out. This blog has not been mentioned on that site yet, since that one is partly for donors who want to follow our progress. This site will be updated as often as I can, but with stuff that donors probab;y don't care about. Or that the world at large need not know about. But if anyone who came here hasn't gone there yet, you should, and post comments saying hi! Actually, the quaility of qriting is probab;y better on that site, because the thoughts and emotions expressed tend to be heavy, and must be well articulated for the audience. Not that I am ever anything but articulate here...
I have been offered a job teaching english here, with a living stipend and nonresident alien visa. It it tempting, and at first I nearly accepted, but then I descided that I might be s[reading myself a little thin, working at Project Galle by day, the orphange at night, and trying to teach english a few afternoons a week. But maybe if I descide to come back. Another woman has discussed setting up a summer camp here for american kids, to come over, volunteer, and do cultural and environmewntal ed stuff. She wants me to help run that. again sounds good. but I don't know. This country is broken and it hurts my heart. When my time comes to leave at the end of May, I don't know if I'll be coming back.
But to reiterate the important point of this post, you all shou;d go here.
