The tale of Jared and Mattie in Sri Lanka working in tsunami relief is at www.makingadifferance.blogspot.com . Wildmeridian will continue to feature the same mix of rambling, musing, and muttering it always has.

Big Apple

A piece of pizza at Penn Station and a hot dog at Grand Central, a trendy resturant in the Upper East Side and a sausage sandwich in Little Italy. As I always say, you haven't been there till you've eaten the food, so now I am in New York City.

Like when I have visited San Fransisco and New Orleans, I am planning my foot powered wandering around where I want to eat as much as what tourist sights I want to see. $14 to go to the top of the Empire State Building?! I can get Shish Kabob from a street vendor, Veal Parmesan in Little Italy, and a pound of dried oysters in China Town for that much. Not that dried oysters make for a good walking around snack, but you get the point.

I am going to see the Statue of Liberty though (Staten Island ferry is free). And maybe the Met and Natural History Museums. Then back home, finally, after 4 months on the road. Looking forward to it. And now the time runs out on my 30 mintues of internet time...
